Backpack

To pack all of your essential travel items for your flight, you need a reliable carry-on bag.

With the cost of extra fees to check-in luggage increasing yearly, we need all need a carry-on piece of luggage that is durable and be able to pack enough stuff inside to stay within the airline’s carry-on allowance.

My go-to for staying within the airline’s limits is a backpack from Haynes Eagle

The reason why I like Haynes Eagle backpacks is that they are flight approved, and comes with 1 front zip pocket with multiple interior slip pockets, and a second compartment fits up to most 15.6-inch laptop.

Compression Socks Women & Men

The one thing I hate while going through airport security is having to take my shoes off to go through the body scanner.

Not because of the hassle of taking my shoes off, its the fact that I never know if there are any holes in my socks.

Also, if you are a germaphobe like myself, I always carry an extra pair of socks in my carry-on just to replace the ones I wore through security.

The type of socks I use once I get through security is compression socks

Why? Because many travel experts suggest wearing compression socks while flying helps improve blood circulation and prevent swelling and blood clots while in flight.

Slip Pure Silk Sleep Mask

Can’t sleep on an airplane? I feel your pain.

I marvel at fellow airplane passengers that can fall asleep the moment the wheels lift off the ground and stay asleep for the duration of the flight.

But, if you are traveling a long distance, the jet lag you feel when you land all depends on how much sleep you get on an airplane.

While it’s not very often I get to sleep on an airplane, but one of the important carryon essentials I pull out of my backpack is this eye mask from Slipsilk

Why? Because of its Anti-aging properties, in laboratory testing, Slipsilk was shown to absorb significantly less face cream than cotton, helping to keep your skin’s moisture and valuable face products where they belong, on your face.

So even if I am not sleeping, at least I know the skin around my eyes won’t dry out during the flight.

Kindle Paperwhite

I love it when people come over to my house and the first thing they see is the number of hardcover books I have on display.

I love the feel of a book when I read, but if you try fitting a hard copy of the latest Stephen King novel that is heavy enough to do biceps curls with inside a backpack, you will need a good chiropractor by the time the vacation is over.

That’s why when I travel I have ditched the paper and settled on an e-reader for reading novels on a plane.

Why? Well, because they are lightweight and waterproof just like the Kindle Paperwhite, and you can download hundreds of e-books onto them so you can stay current with the best-seller list without breaking your back.

If you click here, you can sign up for a kindle unlimited free trial so you can start reading today.

Dry Shampoo

As you can tell from the clip above, Dry Shampoo is a miracle worker!

Dry Shampoo is great for when you have been on a short or long flight and need to freshen up your hair.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo is great because it cleans hair, eliminating oil, sweat, and odor. It is silicone-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free and cruelty-free.

Throw one of these travel items into your carry-on and stay fresh in the air!

Jetlag Pills

When we take over the counter drugs, do they really work? Or are they mostly sugar pills that just trick us into thinking they work?

Nobody knows for sure, but when it comes to feeling fresh when I land I always take Zaca Recovery Chewables.

The purpose of these recovery chewables is to help the body combat feeling tired, altitude effects, jet lag, and immune suppression.

They work for me, and after seeing close to over 500 amazon reviews with a 75% five-star rating, they seem to work for these reviewers as well.

Earplugs

Thinking about sleeping but worried about outside noise distributing your sleep?

I know that even though I have a tough time sleeping on a plane, one of the travel items I pack is the Eargasm Aviation Earplugs.

The reason is that they INSTANTLY REDUCE EAR PAIN from pressure changes during take-off and landing.

The innovative membrane-embedded inside the earplug slows the process of pressure change inside the ear canal and helps to prevent earaches.

Plus, these HYPOALLERGENIC SOFT SILICONE earplugs HELPS MINIMIZE noises associated with air travel such as engine, wind noise, and loud passengers by up to 20 dBs.

Hand Sanitizing Wipes

The first thing I always do when I board an airplane is to wipe down the seat tray table in front of me.

Recently, a flight attendant told me that I should wipe down my headrest as well.

I was curious as to why they mentioned to wipe down my headrest, but after following that suggestion, I was shocked how black the sanitizing wipe was.

So throw in a travel pack of Purell Wipes into your carry-on because they are formulated to be gentle on the skin containing no harsh chemicals and kill up to 99% of germs that may cause illness down the road.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Raise your hand if you have ever been on an airplane where the child next to you played the video “Baby Sharkover and over again for a 10-hour flight? Or what about a chorus of crying babies crying at the same time for hours?

If you are on a long flight or even a short flight, there is no better way to elevate this problem that to own a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

I am a very loyal customer to the Bose brand, and the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Bluetooth Headphones do the job for me all the time.

Why? Because the Quietcomfort 35 II allows the user to adjust the level of noise-canceling between three settings using the Action button or the Bose Connect app.

The volume-optimized EQ gives you balanced audio performance at any volume, and a noise-rejecting dual-microphone system provides clearer calls, even in noisy environments.

Plus they last up to 20 hours on a single charge.

Another great budget pair of noise-canceling and great headphones for flights is the Cowin E7.

These economical pair of Active Noise Cancelling Headphones features advanced active noise reduction technology that can quell airplane cabin noise and the over-talkative passenger sitting next to you.

Give either of these two travel items a go for your next flight, you will be happy you did.

Self-Cleaning Water Bottle

Have you seen the price of bottled water once you make it through airport security? I am surprised there isn’t a loan officer giving out loans to help you pay for a bottle of Evian.

That’s why one of the travel items that I always pack with me is a great reusable water bottle to avoid having to keep taking out bank loans for bottled water.

The recent reusable water bottle that I purchased and really like a lot is the self-cleaning water bottle from LARQ Bottle.

Self-cleaning water bottle? Yes, it is a real thing.

The LARQ Bottle is the World’s First Self-cleaning Water Bottle–using innovative non-toxic mercury-free UV-C LED technology to purify water and clean the inner surfaces of the bottle by eliminating odor-causing bacteria and viruses.

Pure water in 60 seconds – Works at the touch of a button and self-cleans by intelligently activating every 2 hours to keep your bottle fresh and stink-free.

This travel-friendly water bottle keeps water cold for 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours with double-wall insulated stainless steel construction.

The USB rechargeable Li-polymer battery inside gives you self-cleaning power for up to a month on a full charge.

This is the perfect water bottle for those who are worried about germs.

Makeup Removing Wipes

If you are planning a long-haul flight, one of the important travel items that any traveler should pack on his/her carry-on is a cleansing wipe soft enough for the face.

Why? Because for those who wear makeup, sleeping with makeup is very bad for the skin. Also, sleeping with dirty and oily skin can cause acne and clogged pores.

To avoid these problems, I always pack an all-in-one cleansing and makeup removing wipe.

The Garnier SkinActive cleansing wipes are specially formulated makeup removing wipes capture and lift away dirt, oil and even waterproof makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin feeling clean and soft.

Portable Phone Charger

This is one of the travel items that I never leave home without!

The reason is that on a trip I took years ago, I forget to charge my smartphone via the airplane’s setback charger as I was playing hours upon hours of Angry Birds to pass the time.

By the time I landed at the airport and headed outside to get a UBER, I had noticed my smartphone battery was dead.

I had to sit in the airport for 30 min to get my phone up and running to get an Uber and head to my hotel.

Nobody wants to get off a long red-eye flight and be stuck with no phone charge left to go anywhere.

That’s why I pack with me Anker PowerCore 20000 Portable Charger which is small enough to pack in a carry-on but be powerful enough to provide unto 45 Extra Hours of Battery Life for a smartphone.

Also, if you hate always fighting for the one free electrical plug in the airport terminal, packing a 6 Port USB Charging Station is a dream.

Not only can you charge up to 6 devices at the same time on one outlet, but you also have free spots available for other passengers looking for an outlet. It’s good karma.

Neck Pillow

You have cleansed your face, you have your eye mask ready, and earplugs in your hand for a good night’s rest, the only thing missing in your travel items is a great travel pillow.

I have struggled to find the right travel pillow for flying, but I came across the Trtl travel pillow, and it has changed the way I slept on planes now.

The TRTL PILLOW is a SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN travel pillow to keep your head in a BETTER POSITION when sleeping upright by holding your head in an ergonomic position during rest. No more nodding heads!

The Trtl Pillow is EASY TO ATTACH to the handle of your backpack or outside of your luggage, and it only WEIGHS HALF A POUND (148 grams)!

Say goodbye to bulky neck pillows taking up precious space in your carry on, or weighing you down at duty-free.

Under-Eye Mask

We all can’t live the life of luxury and fly first class all the time, and while most of us are crammed in an uncomfortable seat for hours in economy class, you can still bring the spa life on board with you.

Since you have your silk mask for cutting out the outside light while you try to sleep, why not add some eye patches to reduce the DARK CIRCLES AND EYE PUFFINESS while you sleep.

These eye patches contain collagen, hyaluronic acid, and a hydrogel that moisturizes, quenches, and rejuvenates the skin.

How they work is you wash and thoroughly dry your face. Apply one mask under each eye.

Leave for 20 minutes, or as long as you’d like, and when you are done gently peel off eye masks then pat the remaining serum into your skin.

Travel Document Holder w/RFID Blocking

My main focus of packing it to cut down all of the travel items I have into one carry-on every time I travel.

So why not cut down the amount of clutter when it comes to the documents we need while we travel?

That’s why I carry with me the Zero Grid Passport Wallet with the integrated RFID blocking security layer that prevents unauthorized scanning of your passport and credit cards.

Most recently issued passports now contain RFID chips that can be scanned to retrieve your name, official photo and other details.

Thieves can use this information to open bank accounts in your name, access your existing accounts, and otherwise cause chaos in your life.

The passport holder RFID shielding layer shuts the crooks down without causing you any inconvenience.

Plus it’s the perfect TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ORGANIZER TO KEEP EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE! It holds 4-10 credit cards, tickets, ID, money, and other essentials in a compact zipper passport wallet for men and women.

Plus it has a micro travel pen for customs forms included inside the travel document holder.

It’s a whole new world when it comes to flying now. I recently saw the ANA airlines precaution checklist yesterday, and it really is a different way of flying now.
