    If you could built a new Home Gym from scratch, what would be the absolute minimum room size you would recommend? Like the smallest possible with “everything you will need” in? I have a spare room in my house and am not sure if it is big enough to even tackle the project of a home gym..

      If you are looking for something to fit into a small room, my general rule is to have up to 10 square feet to play with. If you are looking for strength training and conditioning, I would try the Bowflex as it fits in most rooms with room to spare. If you need to add cardio to this, it might be tough, and you might want to consider jogging or biking outside to save space.

    If we only had more space at home, I would seriously consider creating a home gym. It would good not only for me but also for my husband who needs physical rehab exercises to regain strength in his legs.

      A stationary bike is great for leg conditioning. I was in the same situation years ago, and slowly but surely over a course of a few months I was able to regain some strength in my legs. Good luck to your husband.

    This is great advice. Unfortunately, in the house right now we don’t have the space to dedicate one area just to being a home gym, although I have considered transforming part of the garage for that purpose. For now, I have a small cupboard that holds most of my smaller workout gear (resistances bands, dumbbells, etc.) and a treadmill that I am able to fold up and store in the side of the dining room. It’s better than nothing, especially right now when I’m not comfortable running off to a public gym space.
