How To Create The Perfect Home Gym 2020 – Do you ever wish that you could go to a gym and nobody was there to compete with you to get a solid workout in?

The great part about owning a home gym is that nobody will know you have one. This means can be free to do whatever you want! Workout whenever you want! Wear leg warmers and use a thigh master if you want!

Sure you could tell people you own one, but why would you want to share your very own home gym sanctuary?

Owning a home gym means that you don’t have to worry about the gym rats sitting on benches texting selfies to his/her friends that they are at the gym.

Plus, you don’t have to worry about listening to music piped through the loudspeakers like you are at a rave.

If you are thinking “What Equipment Should I Buy For A Home Gym“, it doesn’t matter what your budget is or how much space you have, anybody can build their perfect home gym with these great ideas.

Building Your Own Home Gym

If you are looking at building your very own home gym, two factors should be looked at first.

The first thing is the space you are willing to use up in your home to build the perfect home gym that will get you in shape and keep you in shape for years to come.

The second thing that anyone wanting to build a home gym is the amount of money you are willing to spend to get you the best buck for your buck.

Which Home Gym Is The Best? If you like doing bodyweight workouts, the biggest investments to build this type of home gym will be a bench, pull-up bar, and kettlebells.

If you want to build and sculpt via strength training, then think about how much space you are willing to give up so you can add some standard barbells to your perfect home gym.

How Much Space Is Needed To Build A Home Gym? As for space, to properly set up a home gym, you will need at least 8 – 10 square feet that will allow you to do exercises like lunges and deadlifts with ease.

If you are worried about space, I recommend an all in one home gym system like a TRX Training system or a High-Tech Smart Mirror (see below).

Bookmarked and pinned! As someone who’s chronically ill, a home gym actually sounds like a great idea as I can adapt it to suit my needs, and it’s also a little less embarrassing to do things extreeemely slow :p

Its my dream to have my own home gym, but I don’t have the finances or the space quite yet. For now, I’m sticking to basic weight workouts in my apartment. Hopefully in the future I can invest in some equipment like what you’ve mentioned here!

If I would only have the space for a gym at home! It would be an amazing idea, as I do like going to the gym but I am always anxious about finding a parking spot and then changing in the same lockers with so many others.

If you could built a new Home Gym from scratch, what would be the absolute minimum room size you would recommend? Like the smallest possible with “everything you will need” in? I have a spare room in my house and am not sure if it is big enough to even tackle the project of a home gym..

If you are looking for something to fit into a small room, my general rule is to have up to 10 square feet to play with. If you are looking for strength training and conditioning, I would try the Bowflex as it fits in most rooms with room to spare. If you need to add cardio to this, it might be tough, and you might want to consider jogging or biking outside to save space.

A stationary bike is great for leg conditioning. I was in the same situation years ago, and slowly but surely over a course of a few months I was able to regain some strength in my legs. Good luck to your husband.

This is great advice. Unfortunately, in the house right now we don’t have the space to dedicate one area just to being a home gym, although I have considered transforming part of the garage for that purpose. For now, I have a small cupboard that holds most of my smaller workout gear (resistances bands, dumbbells, etc.) and a treadmill that I am able to fold up and store in the side of the dining room. It’s better than nothing, especially right now when I’m not comfortable running off to a public gym space.

I hear what you are saying. Small spaces are tough places to work out in. The great thing is you have the perfect tools in you cupboard to help you stay healthy. It’s better than being in a public gym right now. I can’t imagine working out with a mask on.
