Smartwatch Benefits Introduction
What is the purpose of a watch? It is there to tell the time right? But with technology changing by the minutes, we have seen a major change to watches, and that’s a good thing.
No longer is the Timex calculator watch the best of the best in watch technology, because watches in today’s day and age, they can do so much more than just add.
A Smartwatch is now commonplace in the market today, and there is a great reason for it, it’s an extension to your smartphone. Now you can keep track of text messages, heart rate, music playlist, footsteps, and so much more.
Plus, many of the fashion designers in the fashion world are now adapting to the age of smartwatch and coming up so of the most desirable fashion pieces you can put on your wrist.
Are you ready to find out what are some of the key reasons for owning a smartwatch? Read on to learn why you need a smartwatch in your life.
Instantly Receive & Reply To Text Messages On The Fly
For me, one of the main reasons I love my Smartwatch is the fact that I never have to reach for my phone every time I get a text message or phone call.
With the distracted driving laws in effect all over the world, many people driving still reach for his/her smartphones to read or reply to a text message on his/her phone.
If you buy a smartwatch that has voice support, you have the benefit of the smartwatch reading out loud your text message, and allow you to respond with just your voice.
While the voice commands are still a little finicky and sometimes certain words are used in replaced instead of what you intend to say, but that is a small price to pay for convenience.
Improve Your Health With Fitness Trackers
Many smartwatch companies at the beginning of the smartwatch craze had to figure out what benefits could be added to a smartwatch that would make people want to wear them.
One of the great things that were added was fitness tracking applications that could help with our fitness goals.
I mean really, did we pay attention to doing 10,000 steps a day before a smartwatch?
What do these fitness trackers do on a smartwatch? The great thing about a smartwatch is the health monitors installed in them to can keep track of your steps, heart rate, calories burned in a day, sleep pattern and so much more.
Plus, many of the new smartwatches on the market today are becoming waterproof that allows users to track his/her swimming activities as well.
If you are a swimmer like me, that’s a huge bonus because I have always been curious about how many calories I burn or my heart rate when I am swimming lengths.
Personal Assistant On Your Wrist
I am always forgetting things daily. Where did I put my keys? Where did I park my car? Was that milk I just drank expired?
I remember the good old days where I used to walk around with an agenda binder and a pen and had to carry it wherever I went to keep track of my life, but a smartwatch has eliminated all of this for me.
Imagine being able to plug into your smartphones calendar all of your appointments, reminders, and everything else that keeps you busy throughout the day, and having your smartwatch remind you to the minute or hour of what you need to get done that day.
A smartwatch is the perfect personal assistant, that is lightweight and will keep you constantly notified.
It Makes Finding Your Phone Easier
As you can tell from above that I lose everything, and I spend more time looking for things than I do pretty much else throughout the day. I wish I could see the sun more, but I don’t because I can’t leave my house because I can never find my keys!
Now, imagine being able to find your phone in any situation from your smartwatch with the find a phone feature that most smartphones have.
By connecting a smartwatch to a smartphone, you can ring the smartphone from your smartwatch whenever you need to.
Plus, if you are someone like me who never can find their keys, you can purchase The Tile Mate, which is a device that you can attach your key chain, and with your smartwatch be able to track down your keys via the Tile app on the smartwatch.
Longer Battery Life
I know you are reading this so far and thinking, “Well…everything you have mentioned so far, my smartphone can do the same.”
I agree with this statement as I thought the same thing before I bought my first smartwatch. But, when I picked up Apple watch series 4 (GPS + Cellular) it changed the way I thought of smartphones going forward.
The biggest reason for me was that the Apple watch series 4 has a battery life that lasts longer than the smartphone I currently have.
I was recently on a trip to NYC in which I was able to stay connected with just my smartwatch for 5 days without charging the smartwatch.
That to me is a huge winner because I seem to charge my phone at least twice per day and I don’t even use it. Maybe its time to get a new phone.
Entertainment On The Fly
Imagine being stuck on a Tokyo Train, not moving and being sandwiched with the other passengers for 30 min, and you can’t reach your phone for entertainment. What would you do?
Never fear, your trusty smartwatch is here! With most major smartwatches on the market today you are able to watch videos on them.
No need to reach into your pocket to grab your smartphone to watch the latest youtube clips.
Sure the screen is smaller than your phone, but if you are stuck in a pinch with no access to your smartphone, you will be extremely grateful that you can watch crazy cat videos until the train starts moving again.
Plus, many smartwatches today can connect via Bluetooth to wireless headsets, so you can listen to music as well from your smartwatch.
Know Where You Are When Traveling
When I travel to places I never have traveled to before, I try to refrain from reaching into my pocket to grab my smartphone as much as I can.
But, what if I am lost, and the only way to get back to my hotel is via Google maps from my smartphone?
This is a problem that I never have to face anymore, especially with my Apple watch series 4, as it is able to deliver different vibrations to my wrist to tell me when to turn left or right while following directions from apple maps.
Instead of continually staring at my smartphone for directions, my invisible guide gets me to where I want to go while keeping my head up to take in the views and enjoy my vacation.
