Peloton Alternatives: 5 Great Home Studio Cycles That Cost Less

Spread the love

Peloton Alternatives – With the recent pandemic, and with many gyms closed around the country, people are trying to find ways to bring the fitness studio experience to his/her homes.

Which explains the biggest fitness craze of indoor cycling and the popular Peloton studio cycle. And it makes sense why indoor cycling is so popular today, because it‘s more comfortable than running on a treadmill, and it‘s much easier on the joints as well.

With the latest Studio Cycles like the Peloton, you can experience on-demand cycling classes, as well as go on a virtual bike ride anywhere around the world all from the fitness cycle‘s interactive screen.

So why keep paying high monthly premium dues at your local fitness center, and just bring the fitness studio experience home with you.

Now that you have made this far into the post, you probably are thinking that owning a home studio cycle in your very own home isn’t a bad idea after all.

Well, here’s the catch to the studio cycles, they a little pricier than the good old stationary bikes your parents had in the basement for decades.

As you can tell from the Peloton commercial above that this home studio cycle has all the bells and whistles anyone would need in case there is another lockdown.

The problem with the Peloton Bike is that it costs over $2,000 plus a monthly fitness subscription of $39 per monthSounds pricey, doesn’t it?

Well, if you are looking at a home studio cycle and don’t have the budget for a brand-new Peloton bike, there are a handful of great Peloton Alternatives out there that cost less than the Peloton bike.

I have tested a few studio cycles in the past few months and researched a few of the latest studio cycles that have hit the fitness market to compete against the peloton bike.

So below is what I came up with over my research to help you find the perfect peloton alternative for you at a price you can afford.

Bowflex C6

Bowflex is a well-known best seller in the fitness accessories market and for good reason. The company now makes everything from smart activity trackers to cardio machines, adjustable dumbbells, and home gym equipment.

So I was excited to hear about Bowflex’s newest cardio machine to compete against Peloton. (See my review on Bowflex machines.)

The Bowflex C6 is the latest entry into the smart home studio spin cycles market, and if you are looking for one of the cheapest Peloton Altretnives out there, the Bowflex C6 is the one for you.

The most intriguing thing about the Bowflex C6 is that it works with the Peloton exercise app, so you can stream Peloton training classes from home, but for a more affordable overall cost.

The Bowflex C6 comes packed with high-tech benefits and features that you’d expect from a high priced smart exercise bike, which makes it a great option for anyone looking for a premium and long-lasting spin bike.

The Bowflex C6 comes with an intuitive resistance knob and 100 micro-adjustable resistance levels to suit the needs of every user, magnetic resistance gives an exceptionally quiet and smooth ride, race-style foam seat for long rides, backlit LCD Metric console display that shows all the workout data you need, and so much more.

Bowflex C6 vs Peloton – If you are in the market for an affordable exercise bike without compromising on the high-quality build and features of the more expensive options, the Bowflex C6 is one of the best options around.

Side note: A membership to the Peloton app and a screen is required and isn’t included with your purchase.

The MYX - MYXFitness

The MYX

MYX Fitness is the newest member of the Peloton alternative club but comes at an affordable price.

MYXfitness offers a membership package that delivers unlimited access to content, including weekly updated workouts, a vast library containing hundreds of total-body workouts, and professional, world-class coaches to personalize your fitness plan.

The MYX Fitness bike features a 21.5-inch high definition display built-in that can be tilted or swiveled for clear viewing whether you’re on or off the bike.

Several Training options available like stretching, yoga, endurance racing, it’s all there depending on your mood.

The MYX Fitness bike has a heavy 41-pound flywheel and even though it uses friction resistance that added mass keeps things smooth even when up and out of the saddle.

Plus, the pedals on the MYX Fitness Bike have toe clips on one side, and conventional cages on the other, giving riders ample choice for how they want to strap into their workout.

The MYX Fitness bike vs Peloton – The MYX Studio Bike may not be the cheapest on the market, but it’s definitely cheaper than the Peloton and offers more in functionality.

Plus, MYX Fitness Membership cost, for all of the on-demand studio classes you would expect from a smart cycle, is $29 per month compared to Peloton’s $39 per month cost.

ProForm Studio Bike Pro

Studio Bike Pro

Follow along with our personal trainers as they lead your workout and help you get results on the 10-inch touchscreen monitor

With iFit’s LIVE Resistance Control technology, your trainer takes control of the resistance on your bike to realistically match the terrain of your workout. When your trainer goes up a hill, you’ll feel the burn.

This bike isn’t only about toning your legs. Two 3-pound dumbbells are included with the Studio Pro so you can follow your trainer on and off your bike in cross-training workouts that will pump your upper body as well as your legs.

ProForm engineered the Studio Bike Pro to adjust to fit most user heights. Move the seat up, down, forward, or backward, and the handlebars up or down to find the right position for you.

Experience a smooth, frictionless, and silent ride with our patented SMR™ Silent Magnetic Resistance, which allows you to adjust your training intensity without interrupting your workout or anyone around you.

Engineered and produced with commercial-grade welded steel and enhanced corrosion resistance, the ProForm Studio Bike Pro lets you work out as hard as you want without losing any feeling of stability.

The Studio Bike Pro is designed to quickly get you moving, but it was also designed to easily be moved.

ProForm Studio Pro vs Peloton – When determining which of these bikes is best for you I would recommend narrowing down to the app qualities.

If you are interested in studio-similar classes, the Peloton is amazing, whereas if you like outdoor rides and want to see various parts of the world, the Proform is the way to go.

The Proform physically moves with an incline and decline, so if you are looking to simulate hills or valleys, this may be an intriguing option for you. If you are not concerned with the bike moving and prefer a smooth, strong ride, the Peloton will more than please.

Both bikes offer amazing features, so it may come down to the best price point as the deciding factor, and with the Studio Bike Pro starting at around $1,400, that’s a price point that Peloton can’t match.

Summary - Peloton Alternative

There is a reason why Peloton has competition, and it’s because it makes one of the best studio bikes for home fitness around. But, when it comes to price, it may get overlooked because it is a premium studio cycle, at a premium studio cycle price.

If you’re searching for something different, and possibly a cheaper price then check out the shortlist above for some very good alternatives.

What’s my favorite Peloton alternative?

I recommend the Echelon Smart Connect EX5s and there are several different reasons that Echelon takes my top spot, but the biggest reasons?

It’s more affordable, they offer an amazing fitness app, and they have several models to pick from, making them the smart choice for all riding levels and budgets.
