Peloton Alternatives 2022: 5 Great Home Studio Cycles That Costs Less

Peloton Alternatives: 5 Great Home Studio Cycles That Costs Less

People are looking for ways to bring the fitness studio experience to their homes in light of the recent pandemic and the closure of many gyms across the country. This explains why indoor cycling has become such a fitness craze, as well as the popular Peloton studio cycle.

And it’s easy to see why an indoor cycling bike is so popular today: it’s more comfortable than running on a treadmill and is gentler on the joints.

With the latest Studio Cycles, such as the Peloton, you can take on-demand cycling classes or go on a virtual bike ride anywhere in the world, all from the fitness cycle’s interactive screen.

So why keep paying high monthly premium dues at your local fitness center, and just bring the fitness studio experience home with you.

Peloton Studio Bike - Introduction

Now that you’ve read this far, you’re probably thinking that having a home studio cycle in your own home isn’t such a bad idea after all.

The studio cycles, however, are a little more expensive than the good old stationary bikes your parents had in the basement for decades.

As you can see from the Peloton commercial above, this home studio cycle has all of the bells and whistles that anyone would require in the event of another lockdown. The Peloton Bike has a price tag of over $2,000, plus a monthly fitness subscription of $39 per month. Doesn’t it sound pricey?

If you’re looking for a home studio cycle but don’t have the money for a brand-new Peloton bike, there are a few great Peloton Bike alternatives out there that are less expensive than the Peloton bike.

In the last few months, I’ve tested a few studio cycles and researched a few of the latest studio cycles that have hit the fitness market to compete with the peloton bike. So, based on my research, here’s what I came up with to help you find the perfect peloton alternative for you at a price you can afford.

Bowflex C6

For good reason, Bowflex is a well-known best seller in the fitness accessory market. From smart activity trackers to cardio machines, adjustable dumbbells, and home gym equipment, the company now manufactures it all.

So I was thrilled to learn about Bowflex’s newest cardio machine, which will compete with Peloton’s indoor cycle. (See my Bowflex machine review.) The Bowflex C6 is the newest addition to the smart home studio spin cycle market, and if you’re looking for one of the most affordable Peloton Altretnives available, the Bowflex C6 is the one for you.

The Bowflex C6’s most intriguing feature is its compatibility with the Peloton exercise fit app. As a result, you can stream Peloton training live classes from home using the HD touchscreen, but at a lower overall cost

The Bowflex C6 is packed with high-tech benefits and features you’d expect from a high-priced smart exercise bike, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a premium and long-lasting spin bike to keep you in fat-burning heart rate zones.

The MYX - MYXFitness

MYX Fitness is the newest member of the Peloton alternative club, but it is inexpensive.

MYXfitness Bike offers a membership package that includes unlimited access to content, such as weekly updated workouts, a large library with hundreds of total-body workouts, and professional, world-class coaches to help you personalize your fitness plan.

The MYX Fitness bike has a built-in 21.5-inch high-definition display that can be tilted or swiveled for clear viewing while on or off the bike.

Several training options are available, such as stretching, yoga, and endurance racing, depending on your mood. The MYX Fitness bike has a heavy 41-pound flywheel, and even though it uses friction magnetic resistance, the extra mass keeps things smooth even when getting in and out of the saddle

Furthermore, the MYX Bike’s pedals have toe clips on one side and conventional toe cages on the other, giving riders plenty of options for how they want to strap into their workout.

Myxfitness vs Peloton

The MYX Studio Bike may not be the cheapest on the market, but it’s definitely cheaper than the Peloton and offers more in functionality as a Peloton Alternative.

Plus, MYX Fitness Membership cost, for all of the on-demand studio classes you would expect from a smart cycle, is $29 per month compared to Peloton’s $39 per month cost.

ProForm Studio Bike Pro

Follow personal trainers as they lead your workout and assist you in obtaining results on the 10-inch touchscreen monitor.

With iFit’s LIVE Resistance Control technology, your trainer controls the resistance levels on your bike to match the terrain of your workout as closely as possible. You’ll feel the burn as your trainer climbs a hill. This bike isn’t just for leg workouts.

The Studio Pro comes with two 3-pound dumbbells so you can follow your trainer on and off your bike in cross-training workouts that will work your upper body as well as your legs.

The Proform Studio Bike Pro 22 was designed by ProForm to be adjustable to accommodate most user heights. Move the seat up, down, forward, or backward, and the handlebars up or down to find the right position for you.

Peloton Alternatives: 5 Great Home Studio Cycles That Costs Less

Experience a smooth, frictionless, and silent ride with our patented SMR™ Silent Magnetic Resistance, which allows you to adjust your training intensity without interrupting your workout or anyone around you.

Engineered and produced with commercial-grade welded steel and enhanced corrosion resistance, the ProForm Studio Bike Pro lets you work out as hard as you want without losing any feeling of stability.

The Studio Bike Pro is designed to quickly get you moving, but it was also designed to easily be moved.

ProForm Studio Pro vs Peloton

When deciding which of these bikes is best for you, I recommend focusing on the app qualities. If you want to take studio-style classes, the Peloton is fantastic; if you prefer outdoor rides and want to see different parts of the world, the Proform is the way to go.

The Proform physically moves with an incline and decline, so if you want to simulate hills or valleys, this could be an interesting option. If you don’t mind the bike moving and prefer a smooth, strong ride, the Peloton will more than satisfy you.

Both bikes have incredible features, so the best price point may be the deciding factor, and with the Studio Bike Pro starting at around $1,400, and as a Peloton Alternative, that’s a price point that Peloton can’t match. Proform Studio Bike Pro reviews can be found here.

Peloton Bike Alternative Verdict

There’s a reason Peloton has competition, and it’s because it produces one of the best studio bikes for home fitness on the market.

However, because it is a premium studio cycle at a premium studio cycle price, it may be overlooked when it comes to pricing. If you’re looking for something different and possibly at a lower price, take a look at the shortlist above for some excellent alternatives.

What’s my favorite Peloton alternative?

I recommend the Echelon Smart Connect EX5s for a variety of reasons, but the main ones are as follows:

It’s less expensive, they have an amazing fitness app comparable to the Peloton app, and they have a variety of models to choose from, making them the smart choice for riders of all skill levels and budgets.
